Meet John

John Mealy, owner of MLM, has over 20 years of heavy machinery and ranch management experience in Texas. With his mother’s family being cattle ranchers in Alice, Texas, John has grown up with a deep love and appreciation of ranching. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Range and Wildlife Management from Texas Tech University, John set out to work as a landman in south Texas. After years of gaining knowledge in property title, John had the opportunity to be the Assistant Ranch Manager of San Chicago Camp on the famous King Ranch. Here, John helped with native and exotic hunting trips, prescribed burns, camp construction, and overall habitat management for tens of thousands of acres. After 4 years on the King Ranch, John moved next door to the Kenedy Ranch to become Ranch Manager of the San Pedro Camp and Ramirez Camp...where he built a 5 Star hunting operations and managed tens of thousands of acres.

John is married to Summer Kneese Mealy, who was born in Kerrville, and is a real estate broker. They have 3 year old son, Weston, who also loves the ranching lifestyle and riding on the tractor with his dad. As a family they enjoy riding horses, hunting, and spending time on the family cattle ranch in south Texas.
